Teeth whitening,
brighter without the harm.
Professional whitening in Sarasota by Dr. Gabrielle Chevance, DMD. In-office and supervised take-home protocols, sized to your sensitivity and your timeline. Adult-only, fee-for-service.
Professional teeth whitening uses a clinical concentration of peroxide gel, delivered through a custom tray or an in-office session, to lift external staining from enamel. Sarasota Dental Arts offers both protocols, scaled to your level of sensitivity and the result you want.
In-office, take-home,
or both.
In-office whitening. One visit, roughly 90 minutes. We isolate the gums, apply a clinical-strength gel in supervised cycles, and you leave visibly several shades brighter. This is the protocol of choice when you have a wedding, a reunion, or a portrait shoot on the calendar.
Custom take-home trays. We make trays precisely fit to your teeth, dispense professional-grade gel, and you wear them at home over two to three weeks. Gentler on sensitivity. You keep the trays, so annual touch-ups cost only the price of refill gel.
Combination. The most common path. One in-office session to set the new shade, followed by take-home trays to consolidate the result and to handle maintenance for the long run.
The honest version.
- Sensitivity is normal. Most patients experience short-term cold sensitivity for 24 to 48 hours after a whitening session. We pre-treat with desensitizing gel and adjust concentration for patients with chronic sensitivity.
- Crowns and veneers do not whiten. Ceramic restorations stay the color they were made. If you have existing restorations visible in your smile, we whiten first and then plan any restorative work to match.
- Internal stains need different tools. Tetracycline staining, fluorosis, and trauma-darkened teeth often do not respond to surface whitening. For those we discuss internal bleaching, bonding, or veneers.
- Maintenance matters. Coffee, red wine, dark berries, and tobacco re-stain teeth. A short touch-up with your trays once or twice a year preserves the result indefinitely.
Honest about cost.
Sarasota Dental Arts is fee-for-service and out-of-network with all insurance carriers. Whitening is rarely a covered benefit under any plan, but we will itemize your treatment so you can submit a claim if your plan has any cosmetic provision.
In-office whitening, custom take-home trays, and the combination protocol each have a written fee discussed at your consult. There are no add-ons, no upsells, and no add-on sensitivity charges. The quoted fee is the total fee.

Professional whitening sits in a comfortable range below the cost of cosmetic restorations. The fee depends on whether you choose in-office whitening, custom take-home trays, or a combination. We quote both options at your consult so you can choose what fits your timeline and tolerance for sensitivity.
